After suffering almost 5 months of painful morning sickness and 4 months of backache and sleep deprivation... finally we received our little bundle of joy on 2nd of December 2009.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of our Lil' Princess... Baby Glennedine...

Little Bears for Mama

You know, sometimes I do wish that I have an extremely romantic husband... who will send me flowers and little things when he is away on business trips but tough luck... my hubby is never a romantic man... :P But at least he will help me carry all my Wilton fondant/sugar paste home when he goes to US. I must say carrying a few kilos of those is no joke! So, that is the only romantic thing he will do... well, better than nothing lar hor? :mrgreen:

This customer of mine is currently in Melbourne but he wanted to surprise his lovely wife on her birthday as he can't be with her during that auspicious day. Therefore, he ordered some lovely cuppies for her. However, instead of him giving these cuppies to her, he instructed me to has his little girl, Meliz to be the 'giver'. So sweet right? Meliz is their 7-month old girl.

Initially this customer wanted to have babies and bears theme but I knew that his wife will not have the heart to eat the baby which actually represent her little girl. So I decided to make all baby bears with pacifiers instead.

The customer loves the idea... as he told me that it was so true that his wife will never want to eat the 'baby'.

We had to deliver these cuppies to Bukit Mertajam which is on the Mainland.

Last year this customer was about to expect her baby girl so she had a baby shower before her delivery. Her loving sister came to us and ordered a dozen of cute baby themed cupcakes for her and they loved the cuppies so much!

This time it was her hubby's birthday and since he loved our cupcakes, his loving wife ordered 2 dozens to celebrate the occasion. It was a surprised birthday party all planned out...

He loved to play soccer, tennis and golf, so we have added all those toppers on the cuppies. And he drives a Red VW Golf GT...

She Turned 21

I really enjoy doing this business. It is so nice to see so many romantic people out there! I have this customer who has ordered a few times from me got a surprise on her 21th birthday. Her handsome boyfriend secretly ordered 21 cupcakes to celebrate the occasion! How sweet!

He wanted me to do a figurine to represent his pretty girlfriend but I think I did not do a good job there as I am still struggling to mold human figurines especially the facial expression... Jaline is a very pretty lady and the facial expression on the figurine below really do not do her justice. I hope Jaline don't mind.... :P

And I think this is a special present her boyfriend gave her (the real one of course!)...

Mini Garden Cupcakes

My hubby's cousin celebrated her birthday two weeks ago. Coincidentally also received her SPM result that week and she got 10A! We thought that it must be a celebration for her when her mom invited us for the little party they organized for their youngest girl as she did not want to tell us what was the party for.

So, we guessed it was either for celebrating the excellent result or it was her daughter's birthday since the elder girl is away in Brisbane that time.

I did not tell her that I would be bringing anything so it was a total surprise...

Michelle was very happy seeing these little cuppies as the other cake her mom ordered from a very famous bakery was empty with just a few letterings.

These cuppies are triple chocolate brownie which tasted pretty good but with one little problem though... the white chocolate tends to explode and sort of dirty the cup. :P

Will perfect the recipe before I offer it to all I Love Cupcakes! customers. :)

It's a Barney & Friends Birthday!

Finally I get my chance to do these very famous characters loved by most kids. This customer actually contacted me a few months ahead just so she can have our cake and cupcakes for her beloved daughter's 4th birthday which will be in her daughter's kindy.

Since I have not done any Barney before, she was so nice to provide me with their miniature so I can use them to mold the characters.

As there were about 50 kids in the kindy, I have suggested having mini cupcakes instead of the regular ones as it will be easier for the kids to handle. This mommy also felt that using picks as the toppers for the little cuppies will be a better alternative since she don't want the kids to have too much sugar (apparently there will be another girl celebrating her birthday on the same day).

The customer came back to me the next day telling me that her daughter was very happy and surprised with the cakes. :) Hope Erica has a memorable birthday with all her little friends!

I really like doing these two themes since I love both activities! I was having so much fun modeling all the miniatures food, pots & pans and gardening tools.

I Love Cupcakes! is back again after a long break! :)

Before the Lunar New Year, I received an order for some anniversary cupcakes. This customer who is working in Melacca wanted to surprise his girl who is working in Penang on that special day.

Initially the customer was a little lost about what theme to use and after a few rounds of discussions, he finally decided to use something which is very dear to his girlfriend's heart... her little doggy plush toy. The customer provided me with a photo of the cute puppy (the one holding the roses) and I added 2 more similar looking puppies to create the loving feel. Here are the cute cuppies...

The customer feed back to me that his girlfriend felt really happy with the cuppies and she wanted to keep all of them and not eating any of them!

A previous customer ordered some Chelsea soccer theme cupcakes specially for her boyfriend's birthday. She requested to have a pair of shoes apart from the regular soccer balls and jersey. Her boyfriend is huge fan of Lampard who is wearing the jersey No. 8.

Then she also asked me to add in a new Honda City car as he just bought one recently... hopefully the miniature car I molded look like a City! :P

A Short Break from 1st to 9th February

First of all I would like to wish all customers and readers of I Love Cupcakes! A Happy & Prosperous Lunar Moo Year!

As most of us know, the year 2009 did not have a good start and we are seeing a lot of people on this little island are either asked to take long leave or some very unfortunate ones are left without a job.

Though some of us are spared in this moment of uncertainties, I would like to offer my prayers that the economy will bounce back as soon as possible.

As such we are taking this opportunity of the long leave to settle some personal matters which required us to take a trip down south. Therefore, I Love Cupcakes! will be closed from 1st February to 9th February 2009.

A New Year Anniversary Cupcakes

This is an order I did on New Year Eve just before I rushed off to the party. This customer wanted to have some lovely cuppies as a 2nd anniversary present for her darling boyfriend who likes guitar similar to the one used by Synyster Gates from A7x. I have no idea who is that but it is definitely some rock/heavy metal idol.

I have not met up with this customer nor her boyfriend and I do not have any photos of them too to work up this piece where I have to mold two figurines representing them!

A Laker Christmas Eve Birthday Cupcakes

Sometimes life is such an interesting thing when you're born on some auspicious day. I have this lovely customer from Butterworth was hoping that I could take her order as her boyfriend's birthday falls on Christmas eve. Initially I have wanted to take some rest since it is the eve but she sounded really hopeful, I shall at least be kind so I took her order.

Her boyfriend loves the basketball team LA Lakers and coincidentally it was one of my favorite basketball team too (I don't watch that often but I do sometimes when I'm at my parents' place as my dad loves basketball).

Coincidentally Issac, the birthday boy likes the player Kobe Bryant who is wearing jersey 24, which happened to be the birth date. What an ideal combination right? :)

My customer asked to have the jersey on the cupcake and I proposed some bear cheerleaders to make the theme looks fun...

Then the idea of a joint birthday cake & cupcakes but after a few rounds of discussions, we ended up with only the daddy ordering the cupcakes and the son will have a traditional cake from the bakery.

This is another very unusual theme I did recently for a Christmas present. The sender wanted to surprise her friend ( I have smudged the name to protect the recipient) who loves gaming. The sender also requested to have a favorite character (a tortoise) which is a special item to them to be included on the cupcakes.

Frankly speaking, I am quite happy with the result of how the little gaming items turned out. Even the tortoise almost looked exactly like the photo provided. The sender was very happy with the cupcakes and we hope that the recipient is as happy as us to have received these cutie yummies!

Little Brandon is one lucky boy! His aunt is my die-hard fancee and she has been trying to order from me but I have not been able to be in KL during those dates she needed those cuppies. Then Brandon was to celebrate his birthday in Butterworth, so his aunt decided to order these cute cuppies for him.

Brandon loves soccer and loves to play with the soccer balls so his aunt told me to make a 7" cake with 'him' standing on the cake holding a ball and 12 cupcakes filled with soccer balls. The weather was pretty bad so I can't make the figurine on a standing position so I have to put him on a sitting position.

Brenda must have been shocked to receive this surprise present from her friend... all her favorite brands handbags... on cupcakes!

In fact these designs are a huge challenge to me as I don't own most of these bags or the brands... I only have the LV ones so I have to search for the other brands' websites for reference... especially on the latest designs. However, I still can't really get real thing out but I think they are not too bad either! :)

The weather on that day was extremely humid as it rained the whole day and I was quite worried when the handles of these bags are turning soft!

A pretty lady ordered these AC Milan cupcakes for her sister who is a great fancee of this soccer team. I was told her sister loves 3 particular players and hope to have their jerseys on the cupcakes as well as incorporating the Italian flag colors onto the cupcakes.

Cupcakes for a Dear Wife

. A very nice gentleman ordered two dozen of Oreo Cookies cupcakes as a surprise for his wife's birthday last month. He wasn't too sure of what theme to choose so we came out with the baby theme since they just had a baby girl recently.

I added other designs to compliment the entire theme since it is not entirely a fullmoon event so I added some ladybirds, butterflies and a bunny holding a red heart.

Personally, I like this theme!

This is the first time I did a 2-D cupcakes as most of my work are in 3-D or 4-D. The theme is such a happy one and since I love those smiley faces myself, I don't have much problems making them. I was so tempted to do some 3-D or 4-D ones but it won't have the same effect.

What is most important is, the customer love it! She ordered these cuppies for her friend's birthday. So, I do hope the birthday girl are all smile when she receive these cuppies... :)
